What to Do If Your Account Is Locked
Your Myaccountant account may become locked after multiple failed login attempts. This is a security measure to protect your account from unauthorised access.
Why Accounts Get Locked
- Too many failed login attempts — entering the wrong password multiple times in succession.
- Suspicious activity — unusual login patterns detected by the system.
- 2FA failures — entering incorrect verification codes repeatedly.
How to Unlock Your Account
Option 1: Wait and Retry
Account lockouts are temporary. Wait 15-30 minutes and try logging in again with the correct credentials.
Option 2: Reset Your Password
- Go to the Myaccountant login page.
- Click Forgot Password.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- Check your inbox for a password reset email (also check spam/junk folders).
- Click the reset link in the email and create a new password.
- Log in with your new password. The lockout will be cleared.
Option 3: Contact Support
If you are still unable to access your account after trying the above steps:
- Contact Myaccountant support via the Help section on the website.
- Provide your registered email address and business name.
- Support will verify your identity and unlock your account.
Preventing Future Lockouts
- Use a password manager to avoid entering incorrect passwords.
- Enable two-factor authentication for secure login.
- Ensure your browser is not auto-filling an outdated password.
