What to Do If Your Account Is Locked

Your Myaccountant account may become locked after multiple failed login attempts. This is a security measure to protect your account from unauthorised access.

Why Accounts Get Locked

  • Too many failed login attempts — entering the wrong password multiple times in succession.
  • Suspicious activity — unusual login patterns detected by the system.
  • 2FA failures — entering incorrect verification codes repeatedly.

How to Unlock Your Account

Option 1: Wait and Retry

Account lockouts are temporary. Wait 15-30 minutes and try logging in again with the correct credentials.

Option 2: Reset Your Password

  1. Go to the Myaccountant login page.
  2. Click Forgot Password.
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account.
  4. Check your inbox for a password reset email (also check spam/junk folders).
  5. Click the reset link in the email and create a new password.
  6. Log in with your new password. The lockout will be cleared.

Option 3: Contact Support

If you are still unable to access your account after trying the above steps:

  1. Contact Myaccountant support via the Help section on the website.
  2. Provide your registered email address and business name.
  3. Support will verify your identity and unlock your account.

Preventing Future Lockouts

  • Use a password manager to avoid entering incorrect passwords.
  • Enable two-factor authentication for secure login.
  • Ensure your browser is not auto-filling an outdated password.
