Update Employee Profile

As an employee with portal access, you can update many of your personal details directly without needing to contact your employer. This guide explains what you can change and how to do it.

Access Your Profile

  1. Log in to the MyAccountant employee portal.
  2. Click on your name or profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Select My Profile.

Update Personal Details

You can update the following information:

Name

  • Update your first name, middle name or last name.
  • Name changes may require your employer's approval before they take effect.

Address

  • Update your residential address.
  • Enter your street address, suburb, state and postcode.
  • Your address is used for tax and superannuation reporting, so keep it current.

Phone Number

  • Update your mobile or home phone number.
  • Your employer may use this to contact you about payroll matters.

Email Address

  • Update your email address.
  • Note: changing your email will also change your login username. You will need to use the new email to log in next time.

Update Bank Details

To change the bank account your wages are paid into:

  1. Go to My Profile > Bank Details.
  2. Enter your new BSB, Account Number and Account Name.
  3. Click Save.

Your updated bank details will take effect from the next pay run. Any pay run already in progress will use the previous details.

Split payments

If your employer supports split payments, you can nominate multiple bank accounts and specify how much goes into each (for example, a fixed amount into a savings account with the remainder into your everyday account).

Update Emergency Contact

  1. Go to My Profile > Emergency Contact.
  2. Enter or update the following:
    • Contact Name
    • Relationship (e.g. spouse, parent, sibling)
    • Phone Number
  3. Click Save.

What You Cannot Change

Some details can only be updated by your employer:

  • Tax File Number (TFN) — contact your employer to correct this
  • Superannuation fund — submit a Standard Choice Form to your employer
  • Employment type (full-time, part-time, casual)
  • Pay rate
  • Start date

Important Notes

  • All changes you make are logged and visible to your employer in the audit history.
  • Bank detail changes are flagged for your employer's review for security purposes.
  • Keep your details up to date to ensure payslips, payment summaries and super contributions are accurate.
