Run Payroll for Your Clients
As an accountant, you can process pay runs for your clients directly from your Myaccountant practice account. You have full access to create, manage, and submit pay runs for each client business.
Switching to a Client
- From the main dashboard, navigate to My Clients.
- Click on the client's business name to open their workspace.
- You are now operating within the client's context — all payroll actions will apply to this client.
Processing a Pay Run
- Navigate to Payroll > Pay Runs within the client's workspace.
- Click Create Pay Run.
- Select the pay schedule (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) and pay period.
- Employees matching the selected schedule will be automatically included.
- Review and adjust each employee's pay details:
- Verify hours, rates, and pay items.
- Add or remove pay items as needed.
- Add or remove employees if required.
- Review the pay run summary showing total gross, tax, super, and net amounts.
- Click Finalise to lock the pay run.
Submitting to the ATO
- After finalising, click the STP button.
- Select Submit and review the STP summary.
- Click Submit to ATO. See Lodge a Pay Run to the ATO via STP.
Distributing Payslips
- Click Payslips and select Email Payslips to send directly to employees.
- Alternatively, download payslips and forward them to the client.
Generating ABA Files
If the client uses ABA files for bank payments:
- Click ABA File to generate the payment file.
- Send the ABA file to the client for uploading to their bank, or upload it if you have banking access.
